Songs from the post-mortem album released in memory of the King of Pop in 2010 have been removed from Spotify, Apple Music and other music platforms, with the question being whether the late singer actually sang on them.

Three songs by Michael Jackson from a post-mortem album released in his memory in 2010 were removed from digital music platforms a few days ago - including Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and Tidal.

These are the songs "Monster", "Keep Your Head Up" and "Breaking News", which for years the network has been wondering about their authenticity and the degree of involvement of the late singer in them.

Despite this, a spokesman for Jackson's official website claims that the removal of the songs has nothing to do with the degree of their authenticity as works in which Jackson took part.

The reason, then, that gave rise to the mysterious disappearance of the tracks is quite original - to a downright unreliable.

"The Legacy of Michael Jackson and Sony Music believe that the ongoing discourse about the songs distracts Michael's fan base as well as his casual listeners from focusing their attention on where it should be - in Michael Jackson's deep and legendary catalog of works."

It should be noted that even the pop king's mother, as well as his sister La Toya, his nephew Trill and children Paris and Prince expressed doubts about the credibility of the songs in question, arguing that the voice may not be that of the musician, who died in 2009. When the album was released, he won For the sake of "Michael", Sony Music wrote in a statement that it has "full confidence in the conclusions of our intensive research and also in the words of those who recorded with Michael in the studio, to determine that the voice heard on the album is indeed his voice."

In June 2014, Sony Music, the legacy of Jackson and the producers of the three songs, Edward Casquio and James Forte, were sued by a fan of the singer, for violating consumer laws, unfair competition and fraud.

In 2018, the court dismissed Sony Music and the estate from their share in the lawsuit, while the two producers are still dealing with it.
