Several homes and businesses belonging to Muslims who oppose the government have been destroyed in Allahabad, India.
After two nights in police custody, Somaiya Fatima, a 19-year-old Indian woman, was released and witnessed the demolition of her house via a live broadcast.
Persecutions against the Muslim population are increasingly frequent with the rise of Hindu nationalism represented by the BJP, the ruling party.
"We are Muslims and that's why we are targeted," says the young woman.
His father, Javed Mohammad, had been arrested a few days earlier for having led a demonstration against the power in place.
“Three bulldozers were brought in to demolish the house in the presence of hundreds of police and hundreds of cameras, without any empathy,” explains Javed Mohammad's lawyer.
The Indian government represented by Narendra Modī, from the right-wing Hindu nationalist party, the BJP, is accused of repressing Muslims via “bulldozer justice”.
“The BJP is ideologically committed to making second-class citizens of Muslims in India, humiliating them socially and destroying their property,” warns the lawyer.
