140 people are on the guest list, maybe a few punks will join them. And Friedrich Merz is just the »plus one«. Everything important and unimportant about the wedding of Christian Lindner and Franca Lehfeldt.

Finance Minister Christian Linder and journalist Franca Lehfeldt will celebrate their wedding on Sylt in the coming days.

The time, place and (financial) effort of the celebrations have caused criticism in social networks and among some colleagues in the writing guild.

However, this will not be discussed here.

This service piece aims to gather everything else you need to know about the wedding - as well as some things you might not want to know about the wedding.

Where is the celebration?

The entire festival of joy takes place on the popular Frisian island in the North Sea.

On Thursday, Lehfeldt and Lindner will first give each other the civil yes-word.

According to media reports, the date was deliberately chosen: Accordingly, the two met on July 7, 2018.

The prominent couple of the mayor of the municipality of Sylt, Nikolas Häckel (independent), will marry, as Häckel confirmed to the dpa news agency.

According to the "Berliner Zeitung", after the registry office, the guests are invited to the "Vogelkoje" restaurant.

A day later there should be a bachelorette party.

On Saturday, the two want to get married in the Sankt Severin Church in Keitum.

Afterwards there will be a celebration in the Promibar Zanzibar.

Wedding couple and guests will be accommodated at »Severin's Resort & Spa«.

According to its own information, the hotel complex has 62 rooms and suites as well as 27 apartments in five apartment buildings.

There is also a 2000 square meter wellness area.

According to hotel director Christian Siegling, the costs for an overnight stay are between 390 and 3500 euros per night.

"We are pleased that you will be with us," said hotel director Siegling to the "Abendblatt".

The groom already knows the house very well.

"Mr. Lindner has been here before."

Who is invited?

According to consistent media reports, around 140 people have been invited.

Among the guests are Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Justice Minister Marco Buschmann, FDP Vice President Wolfgang Kubicki, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, Economics Minister Robert Habeck and Armin Laschet as well as Friedrich Merz.

According to "t-online", the fact that the CDU boss is on the guest list is not due to a rapprochement between the FDP and CDU, but to the bride.

Lehfeldt therefore met Charlotte Merz during an interview with her husband.

The two have since maintained a close friendship.

So Friedrich Merz is obviously more of a “plus one”.

The multiple Olympic champion in dressage, Isabell Werth, as well as philosopher Peter Sloterdijk and TV presenter Heiner Bremer should also be on the guest list.

Are punks coming too?

Since the introduction of the 9-euro ticket, more and more punks have come to Sylt.

It is not known that persons who ascribe themselves or are ascribed to this group are invited.

However, there were some calls on social networks to take part in the celebrations.

According to media reports, at least one punk has announced that he will attend the wedding with some like-minded people.

Compared to "Tag 24", the 39-year-old "Socke" reported that he and his buddies were planning to visit Lindner and his partner.

"We all want to come to Sylt for Christian Lindner's wedding," said "Socke" accordingly.

»We will hike to Zanzibar and congratulate Christian.«

How much does the fun cost?

Spoilers: the cost is unknown.

According to media reports, Lindner and Lehfeldt originally wanted to celebrate in Tuscany, but moved the festivities for safety reasons.

The "Bild" newspaper also writes that the change of location took place out of consideration for the taxpayer.

Some guests are entitled to bodyguards from the Federal Criminal Police Office.

They are paid for with tax money.

Arrangements for the festival included wide-area closures, snipers, and armored limousines.

The public does not have to pay for food and lodging.

It is not known whether Linder will have to work overtime for the upcoming bill.
