A man from Erfurt died in an accident on the Stubaier Höhenweg in Austria.
The man was with three other hikers when, according to the police, he slipped on a step on the "Wasenwand" on Wednesday.
He fell 150 to 200 meters over a steep meadow slope and rocky terrain.
Two of his fellow hikers descended on him.
They tried to revive him, the third party alerted the rescuers, the police said.
The emergency medical team of a helicopter could only determine the death of the German.
The body was recovered by a police helicopter.
