The release date for "God of War Ragnarok" has finally been set.
The highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok is guaranteed to be released later this year.
That's what the Santa Monica Studio developers promised a while ago - but without naming a specific release date.
Recently Lead Developer Cory Barlog asked fans for patience regarding the God of War Ragnarok release date.
And now the release date is finally fixed.
For PlayStation fans, this means they can look forward to another big highlight in 2022 alongside Horizon: Forbidden West.
God of War Ragnarok is coming to PS4 and PS5 in November
The date was officially confirmed with a short cinematic trailer:
"God of War Ragnarok" will be released on November 9, 2022
.
The good news for PS4 players is that God of War Ragnarok is coming to both PS4 and PS5.
It is currently unknown whether a PC version will follow.
Fans were able to get a first look at the game during a PlayStation Showcase broadcast last September.
The trailer (seen above) features protagonists Kratos and Atreus, as well as some new characters, including the Norse god Tyr.
"God of War Ragnarok" will be released in November 2022, so the developers are keeping their promise that they will launch the game later this year.

God of War Ragnarok concludes Kratos' adventures in Norse mythology
The developers also confirmed that God of War Ragnarok
will end Kratos' foray into Norse mythology
.
When asked why, creative director Cory Barlog explained, "The first game took five years to make.
For the second game, I don't know how long it's going to be... and then when you think, wow, a third game in the same time frame, we're talking a span of almost 15 years for a single story.
I feel like this is just too long.” That doesn't mean the God of War series is finally over.
The only question is which deities Kratos will mess with in the future.
