God of War Ragnarok is the next big thing PlayStation fans are looking forward to.

The release date is finally set.

"God of War" is one of the most successful and popular games from the life cycle of the PlayStation 4. With several "Game of the Year" awards and sensational sales figures, it is also

one of the most successful exclusive titles from Sony

.

So it's not surprising that the developers at Santa Monica Studio want to bring a

new spin

-off of the successful "God of War" series to the latest generation of consoles.

If the PS5 is actually available for purchase, "God of War Ragnarok" is of course a

massive incentive to buy the new console

- especially with regard to the limited selection of original PS5 games.

God of War Ragnarok will be released in November 2022

In July 2022, Sony finally officially confirmed the release date and calmed the minds of the waiting fans.

God of War Ragnarok will be released on November 9th, 2022, so PlayStation players can rest assured that the highly anticipated title will be released later this year.

It is extremely unlikely that the game will be postponed now – otherwise Sony would not have committed to this date a few months earlier.

God of War Ragnarok was supposed to be released in 2021

In September 2020, at the end of the PlayStation 5 event, Sony dropped a real bombshell: the company announced a

sequel to the successful "God of War"

from 2018.

The title was actually supposed to be released in

2021

, as "God of War Ragnarok" would be ideal as a strong driving force for the PS5 at the time of the market launch.

But since the console has been extremely hard to come by since then, the extended wait arguably hasn't hurt PS5 sales.

The already very high demand for the console will certainly increase thanks to "God of War Ragnarok" - even if the game also appears on the PS4.
