This has serious consequences for employees.
NRW – watch out for those with a sweet tooth!
In the future, chocolate, fruit spread and praline lovers will have less choice when looking for confectionery: the confectionery manufacturer Leysieffer, like numerous other retailers, has to file for insolvency - not the first in recent years.
According to the Lebensmittel Zeitung
(LZ), it is still in the stars how things will continue for the approximately 200 employees
(more service news on RUHR24).

Insolvency: Confiserie Leysieffer has to close all 12 locations
According to the
NDR
, the traditional confectionery company had to file for insolvency again because of "liquidity difficulties".
This was confirmed by the provisional insolvency administrator Stefan Meyer from Pluta-Rechtsanwalts GmbH last Monday, July 4th.
Leysieffer was already in financial difficulties in 2019.
As a result, the confectionery manufacturer filed for bankruptcy under its own responsibility, which was completed at the end of April 2020 after, according to t-online, a new majority owner from the USA had entered.
Insolvency: Corona pandemic and energy and raw material prices as the main causes
But how could the second application for insolvency come about in such a short time?
Unlike three years ago, the current crisis situation, which is also hitting other companies such as supermarkets with full force, was the reason for the decision.
In addition to the decline in sales in recent months, other reasons are given in the notification of Leysiefferwe's application for insolvency, to which the
LZ
refers.
According to this, “the recent sharp rise in raw material and energy costs and the ongoing consequences of the ongoing corona pandemic” are also partly responsible for the temporary end of the Osnabrück company.
Insolvency: the future of the approximately 200 Leysieffer employees is still uncertain
As a consequence, the twelve locations in Germany in the form of cafés, bistros and shops must first be closed.
According to RUHR24, it is still unclear what will happen next for the approximately 200 employees.

The insolvency administrator is currently negotiating "with the Federal Employment Agency about the payment of insolvency money" to the employees, according to the notification of the insolvency proceedings that the
LZ
has received .
But after the first talks, they "denied the entitlement of insolvency money in an initial statement."
There is therefore no alternative to the temporary closure of the branches and the release of almost all employees.
As
t-online
reports, the background to the rejection is probably "that Leysieffer only recently went through insolvency proceedings".

Insolvency: Employees hope for insolvency money - Employment Agency denies entitlement
The employees hope that business operations will continue and that the Federal Employment Agency can still be persuaded by Mr. Meyer to change their decision, explains Anna Winkler, Managing Director of Leysieffer, in the statement.
According to the
LZ
, however, this decision must be made as quickly as possible, "because otherwise it would hardly be possible to resume business operations," the message says.
Stefan Meyer explained to the
LZ
that "constructive negotiations are currently being conducted under high pressure with the decision-makers of the Federal Employment Agency" "so that the employees of Leysieffer still receive insolvency money." The fact that this renewed insolvency is a subsequent insolvency makes it more difficult Procedure, as there are still some legal and factual issues to be clarified.
