40 years after the 1982 Spanish final between Italy and West Germany, the match that awarded the Azzurri world champions for the third time, the FIGC has decided to display the trophy won by the Italian national team in the portico of Via Gregorio Allegri, in Rome, headquarters of the Federation.

An initiative to celebrate together with all Italians a moment of joy and national pride, but above all an event that has opened a new era and has become a cornerstone of our country's recent history.

Images that will remain forever in the hearts of Italians, from the scream of Marco Tardelli after the 2-0 goal against the Germans, to the masterpiece goals of Paolo Rossi who brought Italy to the final, to the exultation of the President of the Republic, Sandro Pertini.

That Cup won on the night of Madrid, in a 'Santiago Bernabeu' packed with people, will therefore be exhibited - and visible to all those who wish to pay homage to Italy in 1982 - on Monday 11 July from 9 to 18 in the portico of via Gregorio Allegri, next to the entrance to the FIGC.
