The 42-year-old managing director from Ratingen received a ten-month suspended sentence for assault and dangerous bodily harm.
He also has to pay 500 euros each to three injured parties.
According to the indictment, the man had his child changed in October 2019 on Düsseldorf's Königsallee and then simply threw the full baby diaper into the moat of the magnificent mile.
When a passer-by confronted him about it, he is said to have run away.
But the now 31-year-old followed the diaper thrower with her boyfriend and other passers-by and alerted the police.
He felt persecuted and threatened
When she began filming the man, the situation reportedly escalated.
The 42-year-old spat on the woman and hit her in the face.
He then turned around on an escalator and kicked her in the stomach.
Her boyfriend was able to prevent her fall on the escalator.
The manager later stated that he felt persecuted and threatened.
Another pursuer, a 34-year-old man who tried to calm the upset diaper thrower, was also kicked.
"He was under stress as a new father at the time," explained the 42-year-old's defense attorney.
The court did not punish the diaper throw itself.
