According to reports on Japanese television, Takahashi was found lifeless off the coast of Okinawa in the south of the country by coast guard men alerted by an emergency call.
The corpse was still wearing the fins and mask with snorkel used for snorkeling, even for this reason a diving accident is not excluded.
However, the coast guard has opened an investigation into his death which, according to a local investigator reported by France Press, at this stage takes into consideration both the thesis of an accidental death and that of a criminal one.
Originally published in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump between 1996 and 2004, the manga Yu-Gi-Oh !, literally "King of the games", stages the adventures of Yugi, a lonely teenager, harassed by two bullies, Jonouchi and Honda, and only defended by childhood friend Anzu.

Published in the form of a series in 38 volumes by the Japanese publisher Shueisha, and in France by the publishing house Kana, the manga has inspired two TV animation series, one of which is also broadcast in Italy, and two animated films.
Then came the card game and for its author the exploit of a global success, so much so that in 2009 the Japanese publisher announced that it had sold over 22.5 billion collectible cards.
