Tadej Pogacar sets out to dominate this year's Tour too, after winning those of 2020 and last year.

The Slovenian phenomenon for which, as he himself said yesterday, the yellow jersey had arrived too early this time, wanted to reaffirm his role today on the first uphill finish of this 'yellow race'.

Thus, in the last meters of the ascent he mocked the Dane Jans Vingegaard, a dangerous rival also for the classification, and went to take the stage success, especially to the desperation of the German Lennard Kamna, who had gone on the run and by now had made his mouth to victory.

Too bad, however, that he planted himself a hundred meters from the finish line, where the first two, which went like trains,

they passed him and darted alongside him.

For Pogacar today is the twelfth victory of the season, the eighth career stage of the Tour de France and the 42nd since he turned pro.

Figures that say a lot, but not everything, about how much this athlete who even today gave an impressive display of power on a bike is destined to be the protagonist.

However, it must be said that his first place at the Super Planche des Belles Filles, the Salita delle Belle Girls where Vincenzo Nibali won in 2014 and Fabio Aru in 2017, was also the result of the great work of his Polish teammate, in the UAE. Emirates, Rafal Majka who guided him almost to the top, throwing him in the final, when he waved him to leave.

And, punctually, Pogacar started giving a nice 'skimming' to the group: at that moment it was understood that not even Kamna's stage success was safer, and so it was.

Among the disappointed of the day also Geraint Thomas and Adam Yates,

who tried it all to stay on top of the Slovenian ruler but in the end they lost respectively 14 and 29 seconds from the yellow jersey.

Tomorrow the Tour crosses over to Switzerland, arriving in Lausanne, and they will try to make up for it.
