The triumph of Enzo Bearzot's national team in Spain marks an epochal and indelible moment in the memory of the Italians.

A legendary sporting feat that led an entire nation to look to the future with optimism and a desire for rebirth.

An era in layers: these are years of transformation and modernization, of political changes, social and aesthetic mutations, after the Years of Lead and sad news events such as the Ustica plane crash and the Vermicino tragedy.

That sporting victory was a symbolic event of the country's change of direction.

Forty years later Sky TG24 takes a journey through time, with the 1982 special ANDATA E RITORNO, to the Italy of those years.

And it does so right on board that plane that brought the President of the Republic Sandro Pertini and the world champions back to Rome - around the table where the memorable card game was celebrated between the then Head of State, the Technical Commissioner Bearzot, the captain Dino Zoff and Franco Causio.

There the Director of Sky TG24 Giuseppe De Bellis meets Beppe Bergomi, world champion in 1982, the economist Carlo Cottarelli and the writer Giacomo Papi.
