Cycling: Dutch Van Vleuten wins the Giro women

The Dutch Annemiek Van Vleuten, of Movistar Women, won the 33rd edition of the Giro d'Italia for women, at the end of the tenth and last stage, Abano Terme-Padua in which Chiara Consonni won the sprint, ahead of the other Italian Rachele Barbieri, second, and the Danish Emma Cecilie Bjerg, third.

    For Van Vleuten it is the third success in the final classification of the Giro women, after those of 2018 and 2019. This year Marta Cavalli and the Spanish Mavi Garcia go on the podium with her, in fourth place Elisa Longo Borghini.

The Dutchman also won the cyclamen jersey in the points classification
