Farewell to Tony Binarelli, the TV wizard

Tony Binarelli passed away last night at the age of 81 at the Roman hospital Sandro Pertini, he had been ill for some time.

The great magician became popular by taking part in various television programs.

His hands in many films, even those of Terence Hill for the tricks of cards in the films of Trinity.

His magic shows were very popular on TV in the 80s and 90s, when he starred in some programs by Corrado, Mike Bongiorno and Pippo Baudo.

Tony Binarelli, pseudonym of Antonio Binarelli, was born in Rome on September 16, 1940. After learning the tricks of the trade, he made his professional debut, in the role of himself, in a Rai drama, "Evening at the Black Cat".

The turning point in his career came from the 70s, when he achieved popularity by participating in the singing Rally and the first three years of transmission on Domenica in Conducted by Corrado, expanding his repertoire to mentalism and paranormal phenomena.

So much so that in the following years, after bringing the involvement of the public in his he shows, he ventured into the conduct and design of magic programs.

He also became a consultant for the Sistina Theater in Rome where he brought numerous shows, helping young magicians and artists to make themselves known.

In the publishing market his magic manuals were very successful.

From 1991 to 1995 he was the only magician of Buona Domenica, the historic broadcast of Canale 5. Binarelli had told in several interviews that he had also fascinated Federico Fellini with his tricks, with whom he had then worked in 'Tre passi nel delirio' .

He also took part as a stunt double in about fifty films: known as 'Mister contromani', as an actor he took part in Bluff - Storia di scuffe e di chroglioni, directed by Sergio Corbucci and 'Io sto con gli ippopotami', by Italo Zingarelli.

In his career he has won three World Championships in Illusionism.

In 1988 he founded and directed the magazine 'Here magic'.

He was territorial vice president for Italy of the IBM-International Brotherhood of Magicians and in 1995 he created the professional course, as well as the homonymous trophy 'Here magic', which was held for ten editions.

From 1991 to 1995 he conquered the Telegatto and was also awarded in Montecarlo (1998) and Las Vegas (2000).
