(ANSA) - TOKYO, 12 JUL - Japan greets former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe along the funeral procession in Tokyo, with the participation of tens of thousands of people.

After the long lines that formed outside the Zojoji Buddhist temple, in the center of Tokyo, the place where the funeral was held, the hearse with the body of the longest-lived post-war former prime minister crossed the capital between black ribbons in mourning hanging the Japanese national flags , the 'Hinomaru'.

In an armored city with exceptional security measures and with a dozen helicopters in flight, most of the people expressed their respect through a deep bow and hands folded in prayer, as the coffin passed, based on the images broadcast live on the NHK state TV. .

Others, however, applauded and greeted.
