(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 12 - 142,967 new infections from Covid have been registered in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
A level that had not been reached since January 28th.
Yesterday the infected were 37,756.
On the other hand, the victims are 157, increasing to 127 yesterday.
There were not many deaths since the end of April.
The rate is around 26%.
A total of 550,706 swabs were performed, including antigenic and molecular, with the positivity rate that stood at 26% compared to 20% yesterday (but which reported the data on Sunday).
There hasn't been such a high number of swabs since March.
375 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, fifteen more than yesterday.
Daily admissions are 58. There are 9,724 hospitalized in ordinary wards, compared to yesterday 270 more.
Coronavirus positive Italians are currently 1,350,481, compared to 46,463 more yesterday.
In total, 19,667,320 people have been infected since the beginning of the pandemic, while the numbers have risen to 169,390.
The discharged and healed are 18,147,449, with an increase of 97,438.
