The Grand Slam winner handed his trophy to the young prince, soon to be 9 years old, who came for the first time to attend the tournament with his parents.

This is a privilege that no child normally has access to.

Except maybe a future king.

After attending the men's singles final of the Wimbledon tournament on Sunday July 10, which pitted Serbian Novak Djokovic against Australian Nick Kyrgios, Prince George, 9, had the chance to enter the boxes at the end Match.

Accompanied by his parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, George, whose it was the first time at Wimbledon, was very dignified although a little impressed by the sportsman who won his seventh title here in London.

After the family greeted him warmly, Novak Djokovic asked the young prince if he enjoyed the match: “How are you?

It was your first Wimbledon huh?

How was it ?".

George, a little stiff in his suit and tie, responded with a thumbs up.

The tennis player then handed him the imposing trophy, a vermeil cup with two handles.

The exchange was filmed and then shared on social networks.

"Don't let him down," half-joked Prince William, later questioning the ex-world number one about the difficulties encountered during the match, the Serb confiding in him that the meeting had been "tough".

After holding the cup for a few seconds George handed it to his mother Kate Middleton, who in turn returned it to its owner.

Prince William and his wife are both passionate about tennis, they have a private lesson in their property of Anmer Hall.

The Duchess of Cambridge has attended several matches of the Wimbledon tournament this year: in 2016, she became the royal patroness of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the organization in charge of the competition, and assumes official functions there, in particular the delivery trophies.

The presence of the young prince at this final was perhaps a birthday present in advance: Prince George will indeed celebrate his 9th birthday on July 22.
