Music performances, film screenings, theater performances and a spectacular klezmer show: The "Not in the Sky" festival kicks off • Among the participants: The Tislam Band, Alon Olarchik, Yonatan Razel and the Givatron


Today (Tuesday) the "Not in the Sky" festival in the Upper Galilee kicks off, which will be held for the 24th year in a row by the Regional Council.

The festival will last until Thursday and will take place at Tel Hai College.

The festival this year will address five topics: three decades of nostalgia;

Jews and immigrants marking the 140th anniversary of the immigration of Yemeni Jews;

Public trust in state systems;

Leadership in Hadar - 30 years since the death of Menachem Begin;

Nehama Leibowitz, the state's teacher, marking 25 years since her death.

The festival will be signed by the show "Klezmer Worldwide", which will unite on one stage 50 musicians who will bring together the sounds of the Jewish town's courtyards and a variety of cultures and musical styles from around the world, with the participation of Yonatan Razel.

During the three days of the festival there will be music and cultural performances, lectures, tours and more.

Among the events, a festive performance by the band Tislam in honor of its 40th birthday;

"Bull in a Pony" - a tribute show to the 70s hosted by Jackie Levy and Iran Paratrooper, who will return to the unforgettable seventies with the help of the characters, songs and humor;

"The Eighties Here Again", a show that will take the audience back to the happy 80s with the hits of the period starring Alon Olarchik;

A tribute show to the Gevatron band, which marks 75 years since its inception with its familiar songs and the songs of Yoram Taharlev with the participation of Hanan Yuval, Liron Lev and Dalit Kahana.

The festival's "The Witness" of the National Theater, which deals with the Nuremberg trials through the moving story of Avraham Sutzkover, who was chosen to be the only Jewish witness in the Nuremberg trials, will also perform at the festival;

A Spoken Word show featuring Zivia Margaliot, Roy Ravitzky and Yonatan Kunda;

The solo performance "Lolka" by the Specularia Theater, which will tell the story of Rabbi Yaakov following the will of the Baal Shem Tov;

Eshkol Nevo will talk about the book "A man enters the orchard", screenings of Avi Nesher's film, "The Picture of Victory", klezmer performances and more.
