About two years after the Pixies' performance in Israel was canceled due to the Corona plague, the many thousands of fans of the alternative rock band saw last night (Monday) in their dream come true right on stage.
True, this is not the first time they have performed in the country, but let’s face it - when one of the most legendary bands in its field comes here, especially after an annoying rejection, it is impossible to remain indifferent to it.
"Indifferent" is the last description that can be said about the audience that came to Pavilion 1 at the Tel Aviv Expo, who for almost two hours did not stop roaring to the quartet that stood in front of him on stage, even though none of the band members contacted those present for a moment.
They did not introduce themselves, did not say "Shalom Jezreel" in a tooth-breaking American accent or performed a lovable encore, did not even look in the direction of the audience when a guitar malfunction of the lead singer Black Francis occurred.
And despite the lack of communication, the audience simply could not help but enjoy every moment of the show.

Even before the Pixies took the stage, they were preceded by Jerry Cantrell, the guitarist of Alice in Chains, who for a little over an hour kept giving his head to several hits from the band that released him.
Not long after Cantrell stepped off the stage, the moment we had expected came - and the American quartet took its place, and soon began to give in to herself, as if not just a few minutes had passed from Cantrell's performance.
Straight to the point.
If there is one thing that can be said about the Pixies, it is that they manage to give a great show of life even with a minimum of "effects".
The stage was black and routine, no video art was screened during the show - only lighting in varying colors and the quartet.

That didn’t stop them from performing song after song after song almost non-stop (I have no doubt they wouldn’t have stopped for a moment had it not been for the same guitar malfunction), not even to sip water.
The audience loved it so much that his sympathy for the band could not be missed.

This is a big piece, sweeping after you thousands of people without communicating with them.
Let's face it, Israelis are very excited when a great international artist turns to us between songs and makes us feel, even if for a moment, as if he is one of the guys.
The Pixies made the audience their own, hypnotizing it effortlessly - even when the songs that are not on the band's hits were played.
Naturally and naturally, when those hits were performed, of course the audience went crazy.
How can you not get into ecstasy when you hear "Where Is My Mind" live?
And "Here Comes Your Man"?
Even after so many times these songs and many others have been performed on stages around the world, the Pixies have performed them "on automatic", but with an erupting and contagious charisma.
So maybe the band members did not show signs of excitement, yet the relationship between them knew quite a few ups (and mostly downs), but they were professionals at the highest level, and did not even show a pinch of excitement on stage.
In this way, they tossed the roof of the pavilion into the sky and gave such a successful performance that it is impossible not to wait for the next time they arrive in the country.
