The veteran singer is today releasing the song "Where to Go Back", along with the project "Neufeld's Glasses", which deals with new beginnings • In the interview she shares the internal processes she goes through over the years, and says: "A person needs to help himself to be happy"

When Gali Atari received the invitation to take part in the "Neufeld Glasses" project, she was busy working on her music in the studio, but something in the song that came to her caught her attention and made her go for it.

The song "Where to Go Back" was co-written by Rom Schindler, Ofir Yogev, Roi Neufeld and Shmulik Neufeld.

"This is no ordinary song for us," Shmulik shares, "Gali presents it as only she knows."

"When Shmulik sent me the sketch, I heard it and quite from the beginning I felt it had potential. I really connected with it, and a dialogue started between us. From there we continued to the studio, and the song comes out today," says Atari.

What was it about this song that fascinated you?

"When I hear a song and understand it without looking at its lyrics, it's already half way. Sometimes there's an amazing lyrics or a wonderful melody and they do not connect, but when there is something crystallized and the lyrics connect to the melody - it catches me. Who accompanies me all my life to self-work.Overall a person wants to be happy and feel good, and we always have things that take us farther or closer to this place, and I think a person should help himself. There is a line of destiny and luck above you, there is some supreme power you need to occasionally extend Give him a hand, approach him with motivation - to do and change, and not wait for them to do it for you. "

Sounds a bit spiritual.

Are you a spiritual person?

"I would not define myself as a spiritual person, but I certainly believe in the connection between body and mind. I used to be more heretical, but over the years it has changed. Since my sister Shosh passed away, 13 and a half years ago, I have found something comforting in the feeling I have. "Contact her, through which I interpret things today. It's something she and I did not believe in before. I have a lot of self-work on improving my feelings to be happy. For years I have been dealing with it, and I have not bad achievements (laughs)."

Many of your songs have become a kind of anthem for female empowerment, strength and power.

What do you think today about the words in the song "Today is allowed to be weak too"?

"All of life has really told us to be strong and powerful, and that's important, but we are human and we are allowed to be weak too without having to hide it. The whole female empowerment thing is something built over time without feeling it happen. "Shelly went there. I think I was always fragile, I went through a lot of things but I got stronger over the years. You are allowed to break, bend, move left and right. You should not be ashamed of it."

What do you think of the music industry in recent years?

Do you share the criticism that there is today about the contempt for language?

"If it was only in Israel I would say that it is very easy to make complaints, but all over the world we are going in this direction. Music today is built on a lot of noise and ringing, less poetic songs, but I think there is room for everyone. You can not stop the wave. True there are bad things, but There have always been bad things, and there are good things here too. Obviously our older generation can not be Static and Ben El or Noa Kirl, this is not my being. I can enjoy them and feel I have a desire to be up to date in sound, production and in general. "I carry my face forward and do not want to stand still. To invent a new self."
