It turns out that to this day we have hung our clothes incorrectly.
Fashion guru claims that the way we hang our buttoned shirts and sweaters is incorrect and actually destroys the garment.
Tiktok user Fashion Mom, who appears under @stylehard, regularly shares videos about fashion and style.
One of her recent contributions to the social media platform has been to tell her followers what is the right way to hang the clothes in their wardrobe - and the two mistakes they make that hurt their quality.
First she talked about the buttoned shirts.
She explained: "You should stop hanging your shirts like this" and showed the camera a buttoned shirt with only its top button open.
She added: "Note that when you wear your buttoned shirts open, there is a contraction at the top, it's because you are not buttoning them properly. You have to button them from above. This is the only button that matters," she added, pointing to the top button once more , "This is what will keep the shape of your shirt and will never cause such a contraction."

Fashion Mom then turned her attention to sweaters, which she says should not be hung on a hanger at all.
The influencer said: "If you hang your sweaters like this, stop immediately. Let them rest on their beds in peace all the sweaters I destroyed just from doing it."
She explained: "When you hang your sweaters like that, it really drags your shoulders down."
Instead, she recommends folding them and putting in a drawer or shelf.
She concluded: "It's really important to fold your sweaters, especially these delicate knits, because their folding will maintain their shape and quality."
