Looking for a healthy ice cream alternative?

Frozen yoghurt is quickly made at home from just a few ingredients and is a perfect way to cool down at the current temperatures.

A heat wave is approaching in Germany again and it is important to stock up on cool food to survive the hot days.

Unfortunately, not all foods and drinks that people like to consume when it is hot, such as alcohol or mangoes, are recommended because they lead to dehydration of the body.

What works well on the other hand: frozen yoghurt (also: frozen yogurt).

You don't even have to go into town to buy it.

You can also make the cool treat yourself at home, without an ice cream maker.

Frozen yogurt is not unlike ice cream, but healthier.

As the name suggests, yoghurt is used here instead of cream, so you also save fat and calories.

You can adapt the recipe as you like, for example by mixing in different types of fruit.

Make frozen yoghurt yourself: recipe with only three ingredients

  • You will need a blender for the recipe.

So either put the three ingredients in a blender or mix everything in a bowl with a hand mixer.

The mass should be homogeneous and fluffy at the end.

  • Put the yoghurt mixture in a freezer-safe container and put it in the freezer.

  • After 45 minutes, mix the mixture with a spatula and refrigerate for at least two hours.

  • Meanwhile, take out the frozen yoghurt every 30 minutes and keep mixing with a spatula.

  • Just before serving, take the frozen yoghurt out of the freezer and let it thaw a bit so that it is firm but nice and creamy.

  • Almost all types of fruit are suitable as an addition, for example strawberries, raspberries or mangoes.

You can add frozen fruit straight into the blender to spice up the basic recipe.

Alternatively, you can top the finished frozen yoghurt with the fruit of your choice.

If it doesn't have to be so healthy, you can also use chocolate and biscuits as toppings.

    Enjoy your meal!
