Then you must submit a kind of second tax return by October 31 at the latest.

In eleven federal states this is now also possible without the Elster form.

Background: The property tax reform makes it necessary to revaluate around 36 million properties in Germany.

In order to make the submission of the property tax return as easy as possible for the owners, the tax authorities have set up an Internet portal, as the Association of Taxpayers Germany informs.

: “'Land tax return for private property' has been developed for federal states that participate in the federal model.

These are the following 11 federal states: Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia.”
