“My dog is high”.

With this expression used on the social network TikTok, which means in French "my dog is stoned", users have fun with their pet who has accidentally consumed cannabis.

“This ingestion is actually very dangerous,” warns Hélène Gateau, veterinarian and journalist.

Pets are subject to many poisonings.

“It can be through contaminated foods, such as spoiled meat, foods that are toxic to them (chocolate, avocado)… But also through fungi, such as cheese.

You have to know this list, ”recalls Hélène Gateau.

In the case of illicit substances, dogs can get sick after eating the feces of humans who have used drugs.

Depending on the type of poisoning, the symptoms can be digestive (vomiting, diarrhoea, etc.) or neurological (convulsions, tremors, etc.).

In any case, if you suspect poisoning in your animal, "go to the vet immediately", advises the veterinarian.

“And try to conduct a little investigation to determine the food or substance causing the poisoning”.

This may help the specialist you consult to establish his diagnosis.
