A little more than a year ago Eleonora Abbagnato danced her farewell at the Paris Opera, the theater that she dreamed of since childhood in Palermo and which then consecrated her as an étoile and international star.
Today she, who in her career as a dancer since 2015 has also joined the director of the Corps de ballet of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, she is preparing for a new debut.
And, perhaps not by chance, she returns ideally to that talented little girl of thirty years ago.
On the stage of the Roman Theater of Verona will in fact be "Juliet", the sweetheart par excellence made immortal by Shakespeare's verses, in the show of music, dance and poetry curated by Daniele Cipriani, premiered on 19 and 22 July.
And with her, for the first time, her daughter Julia Balzaretti, who is 10 years old, will dance (her 23rd is repeated at the Nervi Music BalletFestival).
First title of the billboard Dance of the 74th Summer Theater Veronese (followed by Michela Lucenti / Balletto Civile, CompagniaNaturalis Labor and the expected return of Momix), the show is a hymn to love in all its forms, with the protagonist interpreted as an adult by Eleonora and as a child by little Julia, big blue eyes and long blond hair, daughter of the marriage of the étoile with the former blue footballer, nowadays sporting director of Vicenza, Federico Balzaretti.
With them, Michele Satriano, just appointed principal dancer of the Opera di Roma, on choreographies by Sasha Riva and Simone Repelema also in the double step from Rosso e Nero signed in 1988 by Uwe Scholz to the music of Hector Berlioz and in the Rainbow, Love & Peace that Giorgio Mancini created Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story Suite for two pianos.
