France Television unveils this Monday the first selection for the favorite book of the French. Among the fifty lucky winners, classic


We knew the French were fiercely attached to books, perhaps less than they had very eclectic tastes in literature.

This is what is obvious when you take a closer look at the selection of 50 works that will compete to be elected favorite book of our compatriots.

Proust, Zola, Hugo, Tolkien, Camus but also Lemaitre, Perrin, Grimaldi, Bussi or even JK.

The initial idea of ​​this major competition launched by France Télévisions and BBC Studios in partnership with Le Parisien was to appeal to readers of all ages.

A more glamorous phase

The first selection unveiled, phase 2 which begins this Monday July 18 until September 4 is launched.

All will come to present on the antennas of France Télévisions during the summer the first 50 books of the classification.

Youtuber Fabien Olicard will defend JK Rowling's "Harry Potter at the Sorcerer's Stone", and comedian Djimo will carry the manga "Naruto" by Masashi Kishimoto while singer Axel Bauer will tell "La Tresse" by Laeticia Colombani .

Among the politicians, the former Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot will present "La Promise de l'aube" by Romain Gary, and François Hollande, former President of the Republic "Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo.
