Smelly organic waste - putting the bin out of the sun helps against bad smells
It sounds banal.
But a simple tip to avoid smelly waste is to keep the bin out of the sun.
Without a lot of sunlight in the shade, the organic waste does not start to rot and stink quite as quickly.
It is also important to keep the lid of the bin closed whenever possible.
This means that fewer flies come to the waste and lay their eggs there.
Organic waste stinks - household remedies help to ensure that the bin does not become a maggot trap
If you have already taken both of these to heart and are still standing in front of a smelly organic waste bin, you can use very simple home remedies to combat the odor nuisance.
Coffee powder, baking soda, vanilla or citrus fruit peel should help.
Simply placed with the waste, the natural agents help to bind and neutralize the stench.
This should also work with vinegar or peppermint, as

writes.

Organic waste bin smells bad in summer - newspaper as a silver bullet
Wrapping leftovers in newspaper also helps.
The newspaper holds back the odors and even keeps the bin clean by absorbing leaking liquids.
Newspaper can also help loosen up the trash in the bin.
You can also line the inside of the garbage can with newspaper (more service news at RUHR24),

Home remedies can also help with maggot infestation in the garbage can.
To prevent this from happening in the first place, meat or fish should not be disposed of with organic waste.
If it is already too late, newspaper can also help to soak up liquids in the bin that are tempting for maggots.
