The Israel Actors' Association (Shaham) has approached the board of directors of Yoram Levinstein's acting studio, claiming that there is a lack of significant treatment for Levinstein, the founder of the school after which the place is named.
"We were deeply disappointed to see that the school as a whole and the school's board in particular did not take the necessary steps and even commit in light of the harsh evidence emerging from the published investigation and the repeated publications of additional evidence that followed," the organization's CEO Avi Ben Hillel wrote last Thursday.
"In addition to the many inquiries that reached 11 here, Shaham also received inquiries about events that allegedly took place within the walls of the school.

In their application, Shaham demanded that the Board of Directors appoint an independent external examiner who specializes in these issues in order to thoroughly investigate the complaints received against Levinstein. Creating a set of rules and procedures signed by each professional, teacher, facilitator, lecturer and authority in the school once a year;
Creating a set of rules signed by each and every student at the school once a year;
Formulation of a procedure for preventing aggravated sexual harassment and more. "
The Shaham also claimed that they had not yet received a response from the school to a letter sent on their behalf on the eve of the publication of the investigation, that no operative decisions had been published to address the issue on behalf of the school and that no significant action had been taken to eradicate the phenomenon.
"I am sure that as important to us as you are, you also understand the sensitivity involved in dealing with the human psyche," Ben Hillel wrote.
"Students in acting schools go after it to the big world - they will live with different challenges, start families and have to deal with difficult issues related to the profession. School is their first encounter with industry, usually, and the experiences they go through. "This has long-term consequences, even outside the field of profession. Hence your responsibility to provide a safe space for the students at the school. We have a real and honest expectation of working together in order to eradicate the phenomenon and create a safe space."
The letter was also sent to the Minister of Culture and Sports, Hili Trooper, the Director General of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Raz Froelich, and to the Head of the Director of Culture at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Galit Wahba Shasho.

Minister Trooper commented on the publication of the investigation last night: "The investigation published about what is happening at Yoram Levinstein's acting school raises serious and worrying allegations, which require an in-depth examination. "They will feel threatened or harassed and carry with them such difficult feelings. If the allegations turn out to be true, it is not appropriate for the offending figures to continue in their role as educators and teachers."
