After a fire in the Italian capital Rome, the police arrested a suspect.
A spokeswoman confirmed the arrest of the 62-year-old man on request.
On Sunday, flames had blazed in a green area in the west of the city.
The fire caused a stir because large fires had recently broken out in forests and parks in Rome.
"Anyone who commits such serious criminal acts must know that they will not go unpunished," wrote Mayor Roberto Gualtieri.
In Italy, fire brigades have been fighting various forest and bush fires for days.
Drought and wind always give the flames favorable conditions.
On Sunday, civil defense sent fire-fighting aircraft to the Lazio region, Sicily and Sardinia to support the ground forces in fighting the fire.
The fires are sometimes set or ignited by people's carelessness.
Fire in Bibione
According to a media report, a fire broke out in the seaside resort of Bibione on the Adriatic coast on Monday, and the region has recently been hit by severe fires several times.
Mayor Flavio Maurutto tried to calm vacationers.
"The area affected by the fire is far from hotels, holiday apartments and campsites." According to the information, about ten hectares of pine forest burned.
A drought has been raging in Italy for weeks, causing the water levels in rivers and lakes to drop and causing great concern for farmers.
In addition, there is currently a heat wave.
The Ministry of Health issued the highest heat warning level for Bolzano in South Tyrol, Brescia near Lake Garda and Florence for the next three days.
