It is always frustrating to find out that your flight is canceled.

But there is one higher level of frustration: when you are in the middle of the flight and receive a message that your connecting flight is canceled.

This is exactly what happened to three passengers on British Airways last week, in an unpleasant incident reported on CNN.

According to the report, three golf fans from the United States boarded a flight from Austin, Texas to reach the British Golf Championship.

The destination of the flight was Heathrow Airport in the UK, and from there they were to board a connecting flight to Edinburgh, Scotland.

But the London-Edinburgh flight was canceled as mentioned, and the passengers were sent an email about it, shortly after their first flight took off.

However, they viewed the email only upon landing in London.

Arrived 12 hours late

"We were unable to confirm your flight from LHR to EDI," read an American Airlines email.

The group booked tickets through the American airline as part of a cooperation arrangement with British Airways, which operated both flights.

The email instructed them to "please call to book a new flight".

The passengers eventually traveled to Edinburgh by train without their luggage, arriving at their destination about 12 hours late.

No response was received from British Airways.

American Airlines, which sold the tickets and sent the email, responded that "these flights were operated by British Airways, so you should contact them for information".

As we recently reported on Walla!

Tourism, London's Heathrow Airport, considered one of the busiest in the world, has been suffering from severe delays in recent weeks.

The airport has advised airlines to restrict their flights by reducing ticket sales, but some airlines have criticized the move and declared they will not.
