Vinted launches supermarket lockers in Paris and Île-de-France

The Lithuanian second-hand platform has had lockers installed in Franprix and Carrefour stores for parcel deposits and withdrawals.


There is now a new way to receive your second-hand clothes.

Created in 2008 in Vilnius, Vinted now has 45 million users worldwide, including 16 million in France.

Victim of its success, the platform has decided to set up a new delivery service for its members, by installing automatic lockers in supermarkets.

Since the end of June, this service has been available in Franprix and Carrefour brands, in Paris and in three departments of Île-de-France: Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de- Marl.

The lockers will be identifiable by the “Vinted Go” logo, the group’s new entity.

This is dedicated to the development of practical solutions, in order to reduce the dependence on delivery networks among merchants.

The long-term objective is to reduce the impact of such a system on the environment.

“For an ever simpler experience on Vinted, the seller will be able to print the label of his package directly via the instructions.

Delivery will be made within 3 to 5 working days, and by electric vehicles in the Paris region.

As for buyers who have chosen this delivery option, they "will receive a code by email to be able to unlock the locker of their choice", Vytautas Atkocaitis, boss of "Vinted Go", told AFP.

A national project

Thanks to this partnership with Franprix and Carrefour, the platform can now deploy a new service making the delivery of second-hand items easier for residents of the Paris region.

But also allow the reduction of greenhouse gases by further encouraging shipments and withdrawals via collection points.

The goal is also to extend its new option throughout France.

According to Kantar, the second-hand market rose between June 2019 and 2021 from eighth to third place in terms of French online clothing spending, ahead of Zalando and Amazon.
