(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 21 JUL - China still seems convinced that it wants to use force against Taiwan and the war in Ukraine will not deter it.
The head of the CIA, Bill Burns, is convinced of this.
"Our feeling is that it's not about 'if' China will invade Taiwan but when," the agency's number one told the Aspen Security Forum.
Speaking of Sri Lanka, Burns noted that the country has plunged into chaos due to its leaders' "stupid bets" on China's investments.
Other nations should look at "the objective lesson that comes from Sri Lanka today: a heavily indebted country to China that has made some really stupid bets on its economic future and is suffering rather catastrophic consequences, both economic and political," the agency chief said.
