The strikers of Storengy, a subsidiary of Engie, decided on Tuesday to end their movement to block gas storage sites, after the conclusion of an agreement providing for an increase in wages, partially offsetting inflation, a-t -we learned on Wednesday from a union source.
“
We lifted the pickets because we managed to find common ground with the management
”, indicated on behalf of the inter-union Frédéric Ben, CGT Engie union representative.
The agreement provides "
4.6% increase for 133 employees and 2.3% for 380 others out of the 680 employees on July 1
", according to the trade unionist.
The management has also committed, according to him, to a further increase of 2.3% on January 1, 2023, "
either by increasing the branch and, if this is not the case, by the allocation of a level of remuneration for all employees
", according to Frédéric Ben.
The inter-union demanded a 15% increase for all employees.

In addition to wage increases, the strikers obtained a purchasing power bonus of 400 euros on October 1, as well as the revaluation of 9.5% of a Seveso industrial site bonus and a bonus retroactive to January 1 to compensate for the increased transport (fuel) costs.
The management has also undertaken to pay “
a bonus of 250 euros in December, which concerns the performance of storage: it is a bit of a carrot to make up for the delay linked to the strikes
”, indicated Frédéric Ben.
Slower stock fill
During this movement, which lasted more than three weeks, the strikers punctually slowed down the filling of the gas stocks on which the government is counting to do without Russian gas next winter.
The management thus indicated, at the height of the strike, that certain actions had been able to cause delays, “
in particular maintenance work planned for a long time
” which will cause an intensification of work to be caught up.
The government has asked
for national gas storage capacities to be filled to "
nearly 100% " by the beginning of the fall to deal with the consequences of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
