Don't panic, just react calmly.
After all, there are various reasons why card payment does not work.
It may not be the fault of your debit card itself, but that the device simply cannot read it properly or there is a problem with the transfer.

Alternatively, it is always better to carry some cash with you at all times to avoid getting into this awkward situation in the first place.
