It's good that you can make ingenious spaghetti with a few drops of olive oil - if you know this leftover trick.

Olive oil is an integral part of many kitchens.

Its special taste, scent and versatility make it a popular ingredient - and it's healthy too.

Lightning fast because you can make a big difference with little effort.

You may be familiar with chili or garlic oil, but fruit is also a great option.

You don't have to pour olive oil over apple slices, you can use leftovers cleverly instead - with a fruit bowl.

Most of the vitamins and nutrients are often hidden in and directly under the fruit bowl.

It's too bad to just throw them in the trash like that.

The shell and its valuable ingredients are preserved in oil and at the same time give off the typical aroma and it all works very simply.

The next time you squeeze a lemon or orange, put the leftover zest in a mason jar and drizzle with good-quality olive oil.

Seal the jar and then leave the peel in the oil for about a week.

After this week, take the lemon or orange peel out of the jar and the fruity olive oil is ready.

In a week, the peel has released the fruity notes into the oil and refined the taste.

Organic quality for flavored olive oil

If you want to flavor olive oil with a fruit peel, make sure that you only use organic lemons, oranges and the like.

You should also wash the fruit with hot water.

This ensures that no pesticides and other pollutants are transferred to the oil.

Use the flavored olive oil to add a fresh, fruity touch to salads or fish.

You can also simply drizzle it over cooked spaghetti and give the pasta a summery flavor in no time at all.

The lemon flavor is more subtle and subtle than if you just use lemon juice or grated lemon zest.
