A Dungeons & Dragons trailer at Comic-Con announces a very fantastic comeback

As fans await indiscretions on new series Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings, Paramount has unveiled a first look at its feature film inspired by the role-playing game.


Comic-Con 2022, a great mass of pop-culture, opened on Thursday July 21 in San Diego, California.

The opportunity for fans of geek culture to discover the latest news on films and series expected for the coming months.

On the first day of the festival, which runs until July 24, Paramount and eOne unveiled a trailer for the film Dungeons &

Dragons

Chris Pine appears there in the guise of a brigand accompanied by his band, composed among others of Regé-Jean Page, dressed in green and gold armor, Michelle Rodriguez and Sophia Lillis.

The adventurers

"undertake an epic heist to recover a lost relic"

, but all does not go as planned.

"We didn't want to unleash the greatest evil the world has ever known, but we're going to make it right,"

says Chris Pine's character, to the tune

of Led Zeppelin 's

Whole Lotta Love .

The fantasy film, which is inspired by the role-playing game of the same name, is directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.

They take up the codes of the universe: fantastic creatures, magic, and of course, dragons.

The trailer also seems to promise epic

Game of Thrones

-like battles and gives a first glimpse of the film's big bad, played by Hugh Grant.

The film's official Twitter account, DnDMovie, also unveiled a first poster for the feature film featuring a gigantic golden dragon, as well as a date, March 2023, for the theatrical release.
