In times of constantly rising electricity prices, water shortages and inflation, it is practical to be able to collect rainwater autonomously.

Whether for watering the flowers, or even for washing or flushing the toilet - rainwater is free and with the right instructions you can save up to 500 euros.

A water butt is no longer unusual for many garden owners.

But while rain barrels catch the water above ground, cisterns are underground tanks that can store up to 2,000 liters of water there instead of the water running unused into the sewers.

The advantage of this type of rain collection option is that the water is automatically cooled from the ground and germs are less likely to form because it is not exposed to sunlight.
