500 guest houses will be built in the Bedouin city of Rahat
The Municipality of Rahat, the economic company and the Bedouin Authority approved a huge project to build 500 B&Bs throughout the largest Bedouin city in Israel.

The District Planning and Construction Committee recently approved a huge project for the construction of 500 accommodation units and B&Bs in Rahat, as part of a plan led by the municipality and the Rahat Economic Company (HKAL), together with the Bedouin Authority for the development of tourism in the city. The
plan is part of a master plan for tourism led by the HKAL in recent years and Festivals and events, tours of influencers and groups from abroad and in Israel, the establishment of touristic and cultural infrastructures, and also the adaptation of the IBA for hotels, accommodation and hospitality.
In recent years, tourism in Berhat has become a significant economic growth factor in dozens of households that make a living from tourism and hospitality in the city.
Festivals and events held in Berhat in recent years have brought thousands of visitors from Israel and the world to the largest Bedouin city in the country.
The new plan will allow the parent houses that are currently partners in tourism and those who want to join the tourism boom in the city, to build up to two accommodation units on each lot, thus at least 250 more families will join Rahat tourism, and will be able to make a living from tourism.

Mahmoud Elamour, CEO of the Economic Company for Rahat, said: "Tourism in Rahat has improved the economic situation of dozens of families, especially women.
Following a regular program that we are leading, within the framework of which there will soon be new and unique festivals for the city, including a first culinary festival of its kind, a camel festival and special cultural festivals, we are enabling significant economic growth from tourism in the city.
I hope that the establishment of the B&Bs in Berhat will lead to more and more people from Israel and the world coming to stay with us, breaking down stigmas and barriers and enjoying the tradition of Bedouin hospitality that we know how to provide."
