(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 25 - The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced their new studio album entitled "Return of the Dream Canteen", out on October 14 on the WarnerRecords label.

The surprise announcement, which received an enthusiastic response, was made at Denver's Empower Field, ahead of the band's world stadium tour.

Return of the Dream Canteen is the band's second album in 2022, after Unlimited Love which, released in April, climbed to the top of the sales charts and is certified platinum in US.

It will also be the band's second album produced by RickRubin in 2022.

During the Denver show the band performed both their most successful songs and fan favorite songs from their latest chart-topping album, Unlimited Love, namely "Black Summer" and "These are the Ways".

"We went in search of ourselves as we have always done. Just for the fun of it, we played and learned some old songs - says the band -. In a short time we started the process of building new songs. hundreds of times during our journey. Once we found that flow of sounds and reflections, we continued to work on it. With the time transformed into an elastic band we had no reason to give up writing and rocking. It seemed like a dream.

When all was said and done, our love for each other and the magic of music had given us more songs than we expected.

Well, we did it: 2 double albums released one after the other.

The second is as significant as the first, or perhaps the other way around.

'Return of the Dream Canteen' is everything we are and have always dreamed of being.

It's full of stuff.

Made with the blood of our hearts. "

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will continue their North American tour until September 18. Some of the most acclaimed, eclectic and vital artists of the moment - including HAIM, Beck, Thundercat, The Strokes, King Princess, St Vincent and Post Malone - will join the band on some of the dates.
