His laboratory is a veritable aquatic rainbow with its myriad of huge glass columns.
Inside these XXL size aquariums, filtered seawater gurgles and makes green, red or brown leaves dance.
Philippe Potin, CNRS research director and marine biologist, watches over them like the apple of his eye.
“Seaweed is our raw material,” explains the researcher.
Our objective is to study them, from their physiology to their genetics, to understand their life cycle for those which may have an economic interest in being cultivated for food.
