Ashley Judd has met a man who she says raped her 23 years ago.

She wanted to have a "reparation talk" with him, as she said on author David Kessler's podcast.

She "didn't need anything" from the other person because she'd already done her "trauma work," Judd said.

However, she was interested in his story.

According to Judd, the man "showed deep remorse and made amends."

"I wanted to share this story because there are many ways to heal from grief," the 54-year-old said on the podcast.

Alleged assaults by Weinstein

Judd, who celebrated successes with films such as »The Jury«, claims to have been raped three times.

In 2017, the actress was one of the first women to say she was sexually harassed by film producer Harvey Weinstein.

The following year, Judd also sued Weinstein for attempting to damage her career by deliberately making false statements about her.

The reason was that Judd had not responded to Weinstein's sexual advances.

Her legal efforts met with only partial success.

In the past, Ashley Judd had already reported that she became pregnant and had an abortion after one of the three rapes.

Most recently, she stated that it was about the crime from 1999.

Judd criticized Supreme Court ruling

Judd advocates liberal abortion laws in the United States.

For example, she criticized a Supreme Court ruling in June that paved the way for tougher abortion laws in the US states.

"Being able to have a legal and safe abortion was essential to me," the actress told CNBC after the verdict.

She can understand if people have different views on the subject, Judd said.

However, "every individual should be independent in their reproductive decisions, because democracy starts with our skin".
