The writer and literary critic Pietro Citati died at the age of 92. Born in Florence on February 9, 1930, in his long reflection he ranged from Homer to Proust, from Leopardi to Goethe, from Manzoni to Kafka. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 28 - The writer and literary critic Pietro Citati died at the age of 92.


    Born in Florence on February 9, 1930, in his long reflection he ranged from Homer to Proust, from Leopardi to Goethe, from Manzoni to Kafka.

In 1984 he won the Strega prize with Tolstoy labiography.


    Fine interpreter of the authors at the center of his critical reflection, former collaborator of Giorno and Corriere della Sera, in the last years of Repubblica, Citati also won the Viareggio prize in 1970 with his 'Goethe' and numerous awards abroad.
