Do you love zucchini?

Then use it to conjure up a creamy breakfast.

Zoats not only taste great, they are also low in calories.

That's how it's done!

Some people are bothered by it, but it is actually a blessing and a guarantee for many recipe ideas: zucchini hardly have any taste of their own and can be integrated into many different dishes.

Also in porridge and that brings us to the breakfast trend that you should know: Zoats.

This term is simply a neologism of zucchini and oats, the English word for oatmeal.

And that already mentions the two main components of Zoats.

That's why you should eat zucchini for breakfast

Except for radishes, cucumber and maybe peppers, vegetables are not an everyday guest at breakfast for most people.

But you can easily invite zucchini to your breakfast table.

Zoats are prepared very quickly, wonderfully creamy, healthy and also keep you full for a long time.

And most importantly, they taste really good.

Then try this summery-fresh zucchini salad with feta instead.

Zoats for breakfast: You need these ingredients alongside zucchini and oatmeal

for 4 servings:

  • 150g courgettes

  • 1 banana

  • 140 g rolled oats (how to store them properly)

  • 600 ml milk (or milk alternative)

  • Cinammon

  • Sugar or other sweetener to taste

  • Fruit, nuts, toppings to taste

Quickly and easily cook Zoats for breakfast

  • Shred the zucchini and mash the bananas with a fork.

  • Place the rolled oats in a saucepan along with the milk, zucchini, banana and sugar.

    Stir well and let the whole thing boil up briefly and then swell on a low heat for about five minutes.

  • Serve the Zoats together with fruit, nuts or other toppings such as grated coconut, cocoa, peanut butter and co.

  • These quick zoats are great for cramming in a serving of veggies first thing in the morning, and kids won't even realize they're eating something healthy.

    The Zoats keep you full for a long time, have few calories depending on the combination and are therefore the ideal start to the day.

    By the way: You can also prepare the recipe as overnight zoats.

    Simmer the ingredients for a minute the night before, then transfer them to a sealable container and leave to soak in the fridge.

    In the morning you only fill the Zoats with fresh fruit and breakfast with a vegetable kick is ready.
