Maximum prevention after the trauma of the last days.
The wind is blowing in the south of France this Saturday, forcing the authorities to preventively close certain forests in the region to prevent possible fire starts.
"Given the very unfavorable weather conditions expected this week, high heat and wind, which accentuate the already established drought, and the numerous outbreaks of fire recorded since July 14", the Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture took the decision to close all the massifs of the department this Saturday, including the Calanques national park.
"Extreme risk"
Access to all the Vaucluse massifs is also prohibited due to the "extreme risk" of fires in the region, according to the Dauphiné Libéré.
The Var prefecture has classified three massifs as “very severe” risk, access to which is also prohibited.
These are the Monts Toulonnais, Sainte-Baume and the Haut-Var massif.
Access is not recommended for four other massifs: the plateau of Canjuers, the massif of the center Var, the Maures, as well as the cornice of the Maures, according to the prefecture.
