Police have charged a suspect with murder after the killing of a nine-year-old girl in England.
The 22-year-old will be brought before a magistrate this Monday, the police in the eastern English county of Lincolnshire said on Sunday.
The young man was arrested in a park in the eastern English port city of Boston after police searched for him using surveillance camera footage.
The Lithuanian is said to have stabbed the child to death on a quiet street in the city center early Thursday evening.
According to media reports, the nine-year-old was playing with her younger sister when it was attacked.
The mother saw the act from a café.
According to information from the newspaper "Sun", a possible motive could be that the alleged perpetrator demanded money for factory work from the girl's mother, who is the head of a personnel agency.
The case sparked national outrage, with Home Secretary Priti Patel expressing shock.
