The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, signed today with a number of Syrian researchers contracts for research projects that were accepted according to the third announcement of the Scientific Research and Technical Development Support Fund for Researchers for the year 2021, within the framework of the national plan for scientific research established by the Ministry.
Minister Ibrahim pointed to the importance of the research presented because of its developmental value, stressing the need to work in line with the government's direction in supporting scientific research and directing it to serve society and the labor market.
Minister Ibrahim pointed to the ministry’s keenness to encourage applied scientific research in all disciplines, whether at the level of economic development or social development, and to allocate financial budgets to it for its implementation and implementation on the ground, in addition to motivating researchers to submit research projects with tangible outputs that can be marketed and benefited from.
The research projects included the study of sediment thickness in the Martyr Basil al-Assad Dam, building information modeling in engineering colleges, natural sound techniques in heritage architectural spaces, selection of fodder cultures, determining the nutritional and health value, in addition to measuring the level of land degradation in coastal governorates, developing a system to monitor human movement, and follow up and evaluate rehabilitation programs. .
The Scientific Research Support Fund finances research projects aimed at solving technical problems faced by institutions and companies to develop their products and services and enable them to improve their competitive capabilities in cooperation with Syrian universities and government research bodies and centers, in addition to supporting the employment of science and knowledge in scientific research to develop technology and direct it to problem-solving and marketing. The results of scientific research and cooperation with local and Arab bodies and global and international organizations in the field of scientific research and technological development.
