In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, torrential rains fell on the east of this rural state, transforming certain roads into rivers and forcing residents to take refuge on the roof of their house while waiting for help.
President Joe Biden has declared the state a “natural disaster”.
Over the next few days, the weather could complicate the task of rescue.
“The next few days are going to be difficult.
We have rain and maybe even a lot of rain that will affect the same areas.
Please pray for the people in these areas.
said Governor Andy Beshear in a video posted on Youtube.
