US singer Beyoncé has changed the lyrics of one of the songs on her newly released album »Renaissance«.
In the original version of the song "Heated", the 40-year-old uses the word "spaz" in different variations, which in German can mean "turn off" or "romp", but is also used as a pejorative term for people with disabilities.
Numerous fans and activists complained about the choice of words.
"The word that was not intentionally used in an offensive manner will be replaced," a spokeswoman for Beyoncé quoted numerous US media as saying.
»Renaissance« is the R&B superstar's seventh studio album and was released just a few days ago.
In June, after similar criticism, the singer Lizzo replaced the same word in her song "Grrrls".
