The trailer for the movie "Snakes on the Plane" (Warner bros)

In 2006, the movie "Snakes on the Plane" was released which dealt (as you can understand from its name) with a plane full of snakes.

But sometimes just one snake on a plane is enough to create terror - a flight attendant for Turkish airline Sun Express reported finding a snake's head in a meal served to flight attendants and passengers during a flight from Ankara to Dusseldorf on Thursday, July 21.

He also documented the disturbing incident in photos and video.

The staff member claims that only after taking a few bites of the dish, he noticed the severed head of the snake disguised among the potatoes and vegetables.

The British Sun said that Sun Express employees had previously reported beetles and snails found in meals served to them.

A Sun Express representative told the Turkish press that the incident was "unacceptable" and that the airline immediately froze cooperation with the food supplier in question and will not renew it until the end of the investigation.

Caution, the video is difficult to watch:

The Independent published the statement of the Sun Express airline: "With more than 30 years of experience in the airline industry, we make the service we provide to our passengers and our staff our top priority. We provide the highest quality service so that both our passengers and our staff have A comfortable and safe flight experience. The claims and shares in the media regarding the in-flight food services are completely unacceptable and a detailed investigation has been opened on the matter. Until the end of the inspection process in question, all preventive measures have been taken, including stopping the supply of the relevant product."

Founded in 1989, Sun Express is jointly owned by Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa and is based in southwest Turkey at Antalya Airport (AYT).

The response of the catering company

The catering company that provides the dishes for Sun Express flights, Sancak Inflight Services, released a statement published in Turkey Posts.

The company claims that the dishes are cooked at 280 degrees Celsius, so it is impossible for such a thing to happen.

The company said: "We are a large company serving all domestic and foreign airlines since 1994. Sun Express is a valuable customer in our country and a popular airline in Europe, which recently decided to further expand its fleet and route network. We have been providing catering services to it since 2018 and this is the first time we have come across such a case. In the last month there was talk of malfunctions such as snails and insects, but we think that this is not related to us and our legal department is currently looking into the matter. We are aware of this and are very sorry. It is important to note that none of those alleged foreign objects were used during cooking appeared in the food. Due to the technical and thermal conditions used in the in-flight catering facilities, this is impossible."

The catering company added that they believe the snake's head was added to the dish and was not originally there.
