When it comes to the offspring, parents hold many things sacred.

The test brings up some problem children.
Berlin - It's no secret that the mattress can play an important role in a healthy sleep.
Choosing a suitable bed insert seems to be important, especially when it comes to the offspring - babies and small children spend almost half their time in bed or at least sleeping.
When buying a mattress for babies or children, there are certain points to consider: Not all products available on the market are free of harmful substances or convincing in terms of safety.
At least that is what a current study by Stiftung Warentest, which examined 14 mattresses in its test, makes clear.
Stiftung Warentest tests baby and children's mattresses - four models fail
After all, four of the tested mattresses are "poor" for use, as the consumer portal explains.
Stiftung Warentest rated the following mattress models as unsuitable in its comparison:
Model Ronja plus (manufacturer Prolana Naturbettwelten)
Model Polarstern (manufacturer Dreamland)
Model Dream Cloud Kids (manufacturer Aro Artländer)
Model Cocolana (manufacturer Baumberger natural mattresses)
How do the test results for the mattresses actually come about?
The Stiftung Warentest describes the conditions under which the products for babies and toddlers were tested: rolling over the mattress cores around 15,000 times, putting the baby mattresses in climate chambers, exposing the core and examining the lying properties.

Good mattresses for babies and children: Stiftung Warentest identified three "good" models
Where there are losers, there are usually winners.
Which children's and baby bed mattresses perform exceptionally well in the Stiftung Warentest comparison?
According to the comparison portal, three products from various providers can convince:
Model Mariella Hygienica (manufacturer Paradise) - grade 2.1
Model Luna Cloud (manufacturer Pinolino) - grade 2.2
Model Himlavalv (manufacturer Ikea) - grade 2.3
The test winner is therefore the Mariella Hygienica mattress by a narrow margin.
By the way, it is recommended to let the baby or the child lie on the product for a test before buying it.
Stiftung Warentest recently also examined children's toothpastes.
Only two out of 21 products received the rating "very good" - many scored "poor".
